Did Ampher Apidi's Cousin Commit Suicide?

Remember that bungled 'interview' (that never was) by the Standard which was done for them by one Ampher Apidi on Arsene Wenger. One of the greatest mysteries of the World Cup is now close to being solved by the amateur but hawk eyed sleuths at theNairobian. Apart from Ampher Apidi allegedly asking Arense Wenger why he likes black players (you can't make some of this stuff up!) he claimed to have brought to Arsene's attention that sad incident of an Arsenal fan in Kenya committing suicide as a result of an Arsenal loss.

Well, according to an interview (real this time, not some informal chat made up interview) with the Guradian, Arsene Wenger said that a Kenyan man approached him while in South Africa covering the World Cup and asked for his photo to be taken alongside Wenger, and so as not to muddy the waters with our interview, here is the excerpt:

Wenger found himself in such a position over the summer as he was taking breakfast at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Johannesburg during his stint observing the World Cup. Throughout the tournament he had been struck by how people from all parts of the globe came up to him and proclaimed their deep passion and knowledge of the Premier League. One morning, a man from Kenya approached Wenger and asked if he could have his photograph taken alongside the Arsenal manager. They started some small talk. "You know," said the man, "in our country it is all Man United and Arsenal." Wenger offered an amiable reply. The Kenyan went on: "You know that when you lost against Man United, my cousin committed suicide after the game."

Of course Arsene found it hard to believe this shit so...:

And there it was. Wenger was bewildered. "At first I thought he was joking," Wenger recalls. "The two guys who were with him said, 'No, it's true, we were at the funeral.' You could never imagine that.

Now what we know for sure is that Ampher Apidi is on record claiming to have met Arsene Wenger in some South African hotel (he even has a photo to prove it). What we do not know is whether it was he Arsene was referring to. We are closer, but in moving closer, a new mystery is exposed - did Ampher Apidi's cousin commit suicide or there is still some photo of a random Kenyan man with Arsene Wenger in South Africa somewhere in Africa?
